Emulating Direct IP printing

How can I create a VM to emulate a Direct IP Printer, a printer directly accessible via IP?
I have a Windows VM and I need to confingure it to print to an IP printer in the same way as I do in my lab with a Windows box and a physical printer accessible via IP.
At the moment I can configure my VM to print to a physical printer, but I need to emulate it inside VirtualBox.
Can I create a VM to emulate a physical printer?

If you have software that can emulate a network printer then running it in a VM is no problem. Of course the VM has to be on the same network as the device that wants to use the printer.

That's a web-search question. We know Virtualbox here, not Virtualprinters.

On my own PC I have PDF printers: "PDF xChange " and "Microsoft Print to PDF", both of which seem to have a network presence, though it isn't something I've ever needed to use (why print to a remote virtual printer when you can print to a local virtual printer and avoid network delays?).

Come to think of it: if you enable printer sharing in the guest OS then that's all you should need for network visibility. Any printer is an "IP printer".
