unabelt to enumerate USB devices on 7.0.6

VBox installed on Rocky 9.2, VBox 7.0.6 with virtual extension pack for 7.0.6, and guest extensions for 7.0.6. the user IS in the virtualbox group.

the INSTANT I click the start icon for this particular VM it says "can't enumerate USB devices".

I removed and reinstalled 7.0.6 and of course subsequently installed the extension pack, and after booting the guest extensions.

subsequent reboot still gives the same error message, and of course DEVICES | USB reports no devices.

I've been running VBOX on this OS for about a year, and on Centos 7 for a number of years previously, and this is the first time I've ever encountered this problem.

I'm stuck and am hoping someone here can offer some helpful advice. Thanks in advance!

I see no log.

is this the log file you want? (from the host, from directory containing the VM)...

same symptoms on 7.0.10. just upgraded and no joy.

Is your host user added to the "vboxusers" group? See user manual section 4.11.2.

Please note that the Extension Pack is not relevant to USB support in VirtualBox 7.x.

yes, the username IS in the vboxusers group:

$ groups fredex
fredex : fredex wheel cdrom vboxusers
