Why some vms name appear in grey and other in color
Below is a screenshot:
For example IPFireVM and Windowserver appear in color.
Windows7 and Windows11 appear in grey, some kind blurred also.
I came from 6.1.44 and didnt notice this, all vms name were in color.

I'm guessing that the VM is listed in VirtualBox.xml, but there is some kind of permission problem with accessing the VM folders.
What happens if you try to launch one of the grayed out VMs?

Another thought: Try opening the grayed-out VM's settings, see if the warning triangle appears at the bottom, then hover the mouse over it and see what it says.

This looks like the standard search feature: While the focus is on the left pane, start with Ctrl-F or just press any character key, and all VMs not containing this character in their name are blurred and grayed out. Pressing the Esc key exits the search.

The search feature is there for many years, and yes, it's a great way to confuse oneself in the reported way.

It wouldn't be confusing if it wasn't using a standard visual cue (graying out) for a non-standard purpose. IMO it would be better to provide a positive cue, e.g. highlight occurrences of the search pattern currently selected.

Clearing the search by typing Esc or clicking the X in the little search bar at the bottom of the left pane will also colorize the whole list. So rebooting the host also clears the search.
