The problem still happens even with a BIOS update!

Here's an idea: Since you were able to dual-boot the laptop with Linux, could you triple- or external-boot with another fresh Windows?

Since this kind of problem, where Virtualbox running a VM makes the host slow down, isn't happening almost anywhere else except for you, and it only happens for you in the Windows install, it could be something unusual in the Windows OS. A fresh no-3rd-party install of Windows and Virtualbox only might show if there's a manufacturer driver or 3rd-party app involved on the original Windows OS.

Did not help. I have already tried making a fresh Windows install on a separate disk partition, I just can't figure out why this problem won't fix itself. It has been 5 months, no joke. Look at this bug ticket that got ignored for 5 months!:
There may be only one thing.
This problem may be unfixable without dual-booting Linux! log files:

Hmm, that's not good. I can't think of anything else myself. Updating your Bugtracker ticket with a laggy run of a VM under Windows and a successful run of the same VM under Linux might help the devs.

Were these new logs posted to your Bugtracker ticket? I don't see them there.

OK, looks good. Quick question, there's been a lot of water under this bridge, so I don't remember. Does this happen with only the DOS VM, or does it happen with more modern OS VM's too, like Windows 10?

OK, thanks. You might be able to get some more interest and traction in the dev department by posting a Bugtracker ticket about a more recent-release Windows VM. DOS is not supported as a VM OS, though it does boot and run.

Make a new ticket for the most recent Windows VM you have, with logs showing the successful Linux and lagging Windows hosts. Maybe that will go further.

Did you notice my last post before your absence (viewtopic.php?p=539881#p539881), where I provided directions in that I would have researched if I had your problem?

Wow... a problem affecting gaming on DOS and Windows 3.1 isn't being treated as high priority? Shocking!

Going to lock this until eg1 reads and processes the posts above the last complaint about "six months": there were some suggestions on how to get more possible results on this ticket and problem. Will unlock on October 7.
