win10 asks for password which I never had

When I opened today my windows 10 on virtual machine it said "your password has expired and must be changed"
I didn't have a password previously and if I try to leave it blank it doesn't accept it.
I also tried to skip this process and just log in but it still asks me for a password.

VirtualBox has no influence on passwords and password policy regarding software you run on the virtual hardware. I note that you posted a picture of the VM settings summary - but nothing in the VM settings will be relevant to this, it's a guest OS matter. I suggest that you contact tech support for your guest OS.

IME, Windows can indeed get upset if you don't set a password. PC OSs are all about security these days, and a lot of security policy has passwords as a fundamental layer, with Windows Hello, security keys and xFA as upper layers. IMO you should just bite the bullet and assign a password to a local account (Win10 tries to hide it, but there's no need for a Microsoft account). Google for details.

AFAIK, "changeme" (with user "vboxuser") is only applicable to new installations using VirtualBox's unattended install feature. That password would not expire. This is not the scenario I'm getting from the OP.

Yes, it most certainly does get set to expire, for some reason.

PS: you can literally see the unattended install "floppy" in the person's settings screenshot.
