I installed Ubuntu Server 8.04 with VirtualBox 2.04 on a Windows XP SP3 host and I'm unable to type accentuated characters that needs two key to be typed (dead keys). Characters é and É (one key) work but not è à ï ç (using dead keys). If I type the dead key then hit spacebar, the accent alone (^) appears but I'm not able to type it on top of a character. Any way to solve this problem?
Thanks

You could try to switch to the layout Dead Keys (AltGr). With that, you need to hold the AltGr key while creating the special characters. I can, with US International (dead keys (altgr)) create the characters ?, ?, á, ä, etc, but not the 'ç' sign. You need a different layout, but with the AltGr option, it might help.
