Cisco vWLC 9800CL doesn't recognize the PCI path VirtualBox passes to it

I'm trying to do the same but in my case the vWLC doesn't initialize the interface because it complains the format of their info is not the way it expects, apparently there is a domain "0000:" prepended.

The version I'n using is

VirtualBox Graphical User Interface
Version 7.0.8 r156879 (Qt5.15.2)

Does anybody know if recently VirtualBox has changed the way it shows the hardware to the guest VM?

I have a vague recollection there may be virtio-net issues in 7.0. Try uninstalling Virtualbox and installing 6.1.something a little earlier than 6.1.44. (.44 may have new code similar to 7.0.8, but I don't know if the new code involves network.)

Also, Bridged does not always work with the host Wi-Fi. Virtualbox Networks: In Pictures: Bridged Adapter Try wired Ethernet.

Yeah!! With 6.1.38 it works, I don't have the time to test the latest 6.1.x.
I choose 6.1.38 because it was released just a bit before 7.0.0. Empirical reasoning, nothing else.
