Problem with Solaris 10 on XP as host

I installed Solaris 10 on Windows XP SP3 using VirtualBox 2.02. It worked fine until I installed the guest additions. After reboot I get only the console for root. The Login-GUI does not appear. What can I do? (I am pretty new to solaris and VirtualBox)

Btw: Creating a new user account with 'useradd' on the console was also not possible. Received message: Cannot update system files - login cannot be created.

TIA rodyz

Do a pkgrm of the guest additions package and then shutdown/restart.

Guest Additions for Solaris haven't (for me at least) worked since version 2 came out. Still don't work on 2.0.4.

Oh, and if you decide to do the kernel update on your Solaris VM, make a snapshot first... Trying to do the kernel update completely broke my install. However, I made a snapshot first and was able to revert back easily.

Luckily I could repair the system using boot option 'failsave' and Solaris fixed a lot of mistakes, asking me only for confirmation.

Even the guest additions are now working. (Thanks SSCBrian for your quick reply. I forgot to make a snapshot, now I did)
