Hallo,

Please provide a VM log file from a VM that exhibits the problem.
Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.
Btw, Edge translation to English makes a real pudding of your first sentence. It says you are using VirtualBox 21.xx and Mint 1.7. I can read enough German to know that is not what you said, but I can't tell how well you (didn't) say it. However if I can ask you to please use simple language and good grammar.

It is, or rather it was. And other areas were English-only. However, online translation makes it quite practical for people to always post in their native tongue in all forums of this site, so reserving an area for a single language has become a bit of a historical anomaly. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8208#p29919.Beeble1958 wrote:Pardon for my first sentence. Thanks for the log.
Have you enabled USB2/USB3 support in this VM? The log is telling me not, but it's something I would expect in a modern phone.
Also, with the phone plugged into the host could you please list available USB devices using "VBoxManage list usbhost".
And confirm that you made yourself a member of the "vboxusers" group on your Linux host.

First off all it is no smartphone, it is a real camera.
For this test I connected an usb-stick too. It is the same as with the camera. Windows cannot determine the kind of device.
In the listing I will attach you see both : The camera "Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd" "USP/PTP" and the stick as "USB DISK 3.0" without manufacturer.
And yes I am member of vboxusers.
As I wrote before : under VirtualBox 6.1.44 everything works perfect. (Same computer and same windows-installation in the VirtualBox)
Kind regards
Ulli

That is the limit of my Linux knowledge. We will have to await the contribution of a proper Linux user.

I don't know if this is the same background, but you might want to find out what Zaphod and Arthur would feel about this.Windows7 Trillian_1

OK, goofing aside.
The VM shows the USB device being inserted:
list usbhost wrote:VendorId: 0x04cb (04CB)
ProductId: 0x0240 (0240)
USB version/speed: 2/High
Manufacturer: Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd
Product: USB PTP
Everything seems to be OK here.the log wrote:00:00:54.185905 VUSB: Attached '00007f1644521750[proxy 04cb:0240]' to port 1 on RootHub#0 (HighSpeed)

00:01:45.915438 Console: Machine state changed to 'PoweredOff'
However, if the device won't work under 7.0 but only switching to 6.1 makes the device work, that would reasonably indicate a new 7.0 bug. FWIW 7.0 brought USB 2 & 3 into the main Virtualbox app, so no Extension Pack is needed for USB under 7.0. Maybe a bug crept in.
Please make a post about this in the Bugtracker, with logs from working 6.1.44 and failing 7.0 attached.

Is it possible that installing the Extensionpack generates the problem if it is not needed?

You could try uninstalling the EP and see what happens. Note that you'll lose the EP features, so if you use encryption or RDP remoting, etc, they'll be unavailable while the EP is uninstalled.
