Hello everyone,

i had the same problem with the vb 3.02. Before delete all entrance whit regedit (look for "Virtal box") and delete all content of the folder C:\windows\installer ,I could install.

That's one way but can be really dangerous

Re-install the version that you are running we will say it is 2.2.0 then follow the suggestion below. It works 98% of the time.

• reinstall 2.2.0 and select repair (DO NOT reboot the computer)
• reinstall 2.2.0 and select uninstall (DO NOT reboot the computer)
• install the new version and when complete (reboot the computer)

I have been unable to upgrade since version 2.2.0, and I was able to install 3.0.2 by rerunning the setup for 2.2.0, choosing repair, and then running the 3.0.2 installation, all without restarting, and I didn't need to uninstall 2.2.0.

Use the attached utility to force remove virtualbox >= v2.2 from the system.
