runs out of size

hey i got pclinuxos installed and working but when ever i try to mark all upgrades it runs out of room even though pclinuxos is only 700mb and i set the size of the disk space to grow to 8GB. How do i fix that ??

Are you sure you're not running it as a LiveCD? (Because in that case you might be running out of memory instead).
To check how full your disk really is do
du -shc /* as root (this should give you a total at the end). If your disk really turns out to be almost full and you have enough space on your real hard disk you can probably resize it along the lines of
this.
