Hello VirtualBox forum,

On our system a virtual machine cannot start anymore. Whenn pressing the Start-button it shows the following error code:

The VM session was closed before any attempt to power it on.

Error Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: SessionMachine
Interface:
ISession {c0447716-ff5a-4795-b57a-ecd5fffa18a4}

The behaviour is the following:
The virtual machine does start - very slowly - and after about 15 to 20 seconds it closes itself, showing the error message above.

I looked up the log file and found two additional error codes:

ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_VM_ERROR (0x80bb0003) aIID={4680b2de-8690-11e9-b83d-5719e53cf1de} aComponent={DisplayWrap} aText={Could not take a screenshot (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED)}, preserve=false aResultDetail=-37

WasAPI: Failed to get audio input device '{Default}': ERROR_NOT_FOUND 0x80070490
WasAPI: Failed to get audio output device '{Default}': ERROR_NOT_FOUND 0x80070490
Audio: Found 0 devices for driver 'WasAPI'

I looked up both errors and tried the solutions I found for them.
The snapshot folder of VirtualBox is empty, so I cannot delete a snapshot. I also cannot discard the error state, as the Discard button in VirtualBox is greyed out. Someone else in this forum had the exact aRC=VBOX error message with the same ID, however, in the log file I could find anything related to that post. That post suggested that I turn off Hyper-V services but I cannot simply do that because the computer VirtualBox is installed on is a computer of my company.

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
