W2K guest BSOD's in vboxguest.sys on shutdown

Post by NeBlackCat »

Hi,

I have a W2K Pro client running under vbox 2.0.2 on an XP Pro (SP3) host.

When closing it down, it gets to the "Windows is shutting down" prompt, then it BSODs. This happens every time. The virtual disk is SATA (full VDI), IO APIC is disabled.

The blue screen shows that the crash is in vboxguest.sys. The guest tools that came with this release are installed, but no folder sharing is configured. The VM works fine in all other respects, I've used it in both NAT and Host networking (bridged on the host).

I have a screen capture of the blue screen, but cant find a way to attach it.

Anyone else experienced something like this?

If you can reproduce this with a different machine, please fill a bug report. Try it in two ways, one installed on SATA, one installed on IDE. If either one gives a BSOD with the GA installed, note exactly what you did. You can find the information on how to fill a report in the VirtualBox FAQ. You need a separate account for the bug ticket system.
