I am trying to run CentOS Stream 9 and Gentoo latest but both Kernel panic when startic the VM.
I tried adjusting every processor and paravirtualization setting with no luck.

I am on Windows 11.

Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

If you haven't already eliminated Hyper-V, please try if the following command helps:

Code: Select all

VBoxManage setextradata "VM name" "VBoxInternal/CPUM/IsaExts/POPCNT" "1"

I tried that command and it still kernel panics.

I wonder if this has something to do with Windows 11?

I doubt that it has anything to do with Windows 11, even though your CPU is not on the Windows 11 supported list.

I have not seen any significant differences between VirtualBox on Windows 11 v Windows 10 with any version of Windows 11 from the original release up to the current Beta release (22622.450).
