I am a home VBox user with very low activity:
Host : Linux MInt 20.3 xfce
Guest: Windows10
VBox : VirtualBox Graphical User Interface Version 6.1.34_Ubuntu r150636

I only use the system to run a few Windows only apps - including Kindle for PC,
Finding a small mouse problem (?) and wanting to resize the screen I tried to check the VBox Additions (I don't remember loading this after recent upgrades.)

By using official Virtualbox from www.virtualbox.org instead of Ubuntu's fork:

Yes, seriously. The Linux distros' forks handle the Guest Additions ISO as a separate download. Official Virtualbox bundles the GAs ISO with the Virtualbox install and so always knows where to find it. FWIW this forum only supports official Virtualbox, not the forks.

Thanks for that information I hadn't realized there was a difference.
No point in asking whether a the next release will clear it. [grin!]

Is there a simple guide to replacing the 'forked' version of VB with the 'official' Oracle version without risking my Windows10 guest system ?
