As the title suggest, how do I prevent my VM Linux to automatic lock screen, when my window host screen is lock? I want the linux machine to keep on running, like I said because I was doing some brute force, but I want my host window screen to lock while I am away from my pc.

I don't believe that Virtualbox has anything specific to prevent this. Have you turned off any locking controls in the VM OS itself? Linux is very configurable, maybe there is a way to tell it to ignore the lock command?

It would be curious to determine if the Linux OS is truly locking when the host OS locks, or if you're only away long enough for Linux's auto-lock timer to go off.

Most Linux distributions have a "Power Management/Settings' app built in, with similar options to those in Windows. As scottgus1 says, you need to use that feature in the Linux VM to control its behaviour.

I usually disable all power saving settings in VMs as they can have no effect on the host PC.
