Solaris Guest under XP - Host Interface LB Adapter?
Posted: 20. Oct 2008, 07:06
After following some instructions I found on the web I have been able to set up VB 2.0.2 with a Solaris 10 guest (fixed IP) with a host interface bridged with my wireless adapter. This works fine and I am able to use all the Solaris install as a 'black box' server from putty sessions etc from XP.
The prblem is, if I am not in range of a wireless net, the connectivty goes as there is no network stack.
I have therefore tried utilising the loopback adapter and bridging that as per my wireless but that does not seem to work and I have tried the Virtnet driver mentioned here and that does not seem to work.
Therefore wondering has anyone got step by step instructions for achieving host interface connectivity to a Solaris VB under XP when essentially on a laptop with no net connectivity. I am looking to be able to use the guest from XP even when there is no net connection.
Tried most things please help!
