Typing Extremely Slow in Guest (Windows)

While the guest (Windows 10 guest on Windows 11) is generally slow, mouse movement etc is fine. If I try to type something (taskbar search) then there seems to be a 10 or so second delay then all the keys get entered at once. Logs attached.

I have a powerful AMD CPU with heaps of RAM and have turned hyper-V off (don't have the green turtle in the status bar). I have assigned 4 CPU to the VM and 10GB RAM.

I have also seen that people will change from SVGA to VGA in diisplay settings, I get a warning about thgis but others have said to ignore the warning, however if I go back into settings it remains as SVGA.

Don't do that. That was a temporary hack dating from when the SVGA feature was first introduced, a couple of years ago. Naturally it still gets repeated on the Internet, more like magical lore than evidence based. It is not good advice, it's thrashing, it will only make you sink faster. Basically, don't make any changes to the VM unless you already know it will work.

I would turn vCPU cores back to 2, and I would check the task list inside the Windows VM to see what is hogging CPU and/or I/O time. Note that all Windows PCs work a lot when first installed, they settle down after a few hours.
