Win10 VM on Vbox 6.1.34 keeps crashing with Memoryerror since update

Post by Screemer »

Hi

Two days ago i updated Vbox to 6.1.35r150636 and since that day one of my VMs keeps crashing with the attached error.

One other VM is running just fine. What i changed is a new USB-TSE-Stick which is used to save fiscal data necessary here in germany.

Does anyone have an idea what's could be going on?

Every Help is appreciated!

had to compress the log because it is more than 128kb.

That looks like a hardening error, usually caused by adding third party anti-virus to Windows. Please zip and and post the VBoxHardening.log file from the same folder that VBox.log came from.

TY for your reply. I attached the hardening log to this post.

i haven't installed any 3rd party av tools but i added the driver for the TSE. It's a Diebold-Nixdorf USB-TSE and it uses a virtual comport + webservice for communication. the software is not publicly available. they get distributed by the pos software distributors. the name of the webservice installer is DN-TSE-Webservice-1.17.10-1-setup and the virtual comport is DN_CDC_Virtual_COM_Port-1.0.0.0-2-setup. if it helps i can provide those files.

According to the hardening log, the crash is a 0xc0000005 exception that occurs in proximity to the loading of graphics drivers on the host. You could confirm by disabling 3D acceleration in the guest.

The hardening FAQ has further information on this and other things to try next. FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues.

I'll give it a try. The VM becomes extremely slow to but it's better than crashing every now and then.

Without 3d acceleration it works fine. Seems to be the graphics driver.

The VM displays mainly static content so it's no problem right now. As a Workspace environment it would be unusable because of the heavy stuttering.
