We've been running an (interesting?) setup where a Windows Server has been running the VirtualBox controller, with the VM's themselves sit on Synology NAS boxes.
What I want to get a better idea of is this, do I really need the controller to run off a server?
Could I get away with a possibly cheaper option of a beefy workstation/PC?
Ideas? Thoughts? Praise? Reproof?
Server or Workstation?

Re: Server or Workstation?
Nothing special is required of the PC except spare resources (CPU, RAM, disk space) that can be assigned to a VM.
