I made a post the other day about how my XP guest would completely lock up once I installed and started the services for McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i. No solution found for that yet.
I have a new issue. I installed McAfee HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention) on another XP guest and as soon as the services started, the guest would lockup. If I booted into safe mode, the guest would work until about 10 seconds after the login prompt appeared. It would just reboot.
Now, I have had zero problems with these scenarios using VMWare but I love the way VirtualBox performs and also love its features/footprint. I would really like to get these programs working in VirtualBox but I cannot see a way how.
Any ideas? I have tried every option within the console that I think could be associated.

Re: Noticing a trend with VBox 2.0.2
I'm having the same problems with Mcafee Products. VS 8.5 with different patched versions and VS 8.7 does not install in my Windows XP guest, SP2 or SP3. Thoughts?
Re: Noticing a trend with VBox 2.0.2
I'm seeing similar lock-ups in v3.0.4 r50677 when attempting to install Host Intrusion Prevention 7 patch 5 on a Windows 7 RTM guest system. Has anyone found a the cause? There is nothing in the system logs that seems to be useful.
