VM Linux Ubuntu randomly crashes

Hi all
Host: Win 7
Guest: Win 10
VBox: 6.1.32
Until yesterday, running the guest VM Win 10 worked without any problems.
Today, after launching the guest VM Win 10, the VM freezes after a few minutes. A Guru Mediation Alert is shown. The log file shows a VERR_VMM_SET_JMP_ABORTED_RESUME error. Any ideas what the root cause for this problem could be?
Thanks for any hint.
Toby

Everyone who has reported this problem has a Win7 host, which incidentally is not supported by VirtualBox 6.1.x.
We have two open topics already to discuss this issue. I'll merge your posts with the last one.

Well, what changed between yesterday and today? What software was updated on the host (e.g. so-called security software)?

I got it. My AV software has been updated automatically (to AVG Version 22.2.3223). When I uninstall this version or when I install an older version, the VM runs as expected. Thanks for that hint.

Do you have
2019 SHA-2 Code Signing Support requirement for Windows and WSUS installed on your Windows 7 host? If not, please install it and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks, but this doesn't make any difference.

Just got a poster running a Windows 10 host with the guru meditating on VERR_VMM_SET_JMP_ABORTED_RESUME:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=105642
Might not be only a 7 host thing.

I'm inquiring about the other poster's AV, too.

The error code could be coincidental, or maybe its an AVG thing.

If you're using Avast or AVG AntiVirus software, search for their Troubleshooting settings and turn off Enable hardware-assisted virtualization.

Disabling hardware-assisted virtualization does not solve the problem.

Please provide a screenshot, uploaded through the forum's Upload Attachment tab like you did the log above, showing that you turned off the AV's hardware-assisted virtualization.
Also, please zip and upload a new VM log.

I'd also like to know if Windows was restarted after making the change. It's possible this is necessary.

Yep, thats it! When I restart the host after disabling hardware virtualization in AVG, the VM runs without Guru Mediation error.
Thanks for that hint and your great support.

Fyi: AVG just released a new version: 22.5.3235. With this version - even if hardware virtualization is disabled - the VM crashes with a Guru Meditation error.

I would suggest that a more likely explanation is that you got another update, and they enabled hardware virtualization again. It's not like there's a huge range of different things they can be doing to interfere with VirtualBox.
Consider dumping AVG. Certainly consider going to them and asking why they are grabbing precious PC resources without asking nicely.
