Moving VM to another PC
Moving VM to another PC
I am trying to move a VM to a new PC. The issue I'm encountering is when I move or clone the VM and run it on the new PC, the software I have installed on the VM says the trial period is over and I need to revalidate the license. Is there a way to move a VM a keep my installed software valid. FYI, the software that is giving me issue currently is InstallShield.

Re: Moving VM to another PC
If you copy the VM folder to the new PC and register the VM's .vbox file in the new Virtualbox, then all the VM 'hardware' will remain unchanged, except the CPU itself (the CPU is seen directly by the VM's OS and is never simulated/emulated). If the licensed software does not use the CPU in its licensing scheme, then a VM folder copy should maintain activation.
