Keyboard not being captured on VM

:D I'm new to this. I have several other VM's that behave as designed. I have one a bitnami-Hadoop VM imported and it runs. I changed the password as directed and the following prompt " bitnami@debian:~$" I have 2 problems here:

1. the hardware KB does not register and input in this one VM, it works on the others. The screen KB works as well.
2. I don't know what to do with this input request.

As I said really new at this but researching... :?

Have you searched the forums for "bitnami" and read up on previous posts about it?

That'll pin the problem down to this one VM: either an unusual setting, like a spurious USB filter, or the OS is set incorrectly, which we don't know why.

Compare settings between the working and failing VMs. Also, try reinstalling this OS in another VM to confirm whether the OS itself might not have problems.

How to use an OS will be beyond the scope of this forum. Check what Andy's suggestion does for you, also a web-search in the OS's help channels.

One thing I do see, the screenshotted VM's Mouse Integration is not on. If this is the case with the other VMs, the keyboard will latch into the other VM and be captured and not be able to get out into this VM until the Host key 'Right Ctrl' is typed. Are you sure the VM in question was focused in the host when trying to type into it?
