Hi,
I have successfully created my first Virtual machine. My Host is W10x64 and my guest is WXPx32 SP 3. I have installed Mechanical Desktop 2006 and I am basically on "cloud 9". I had some trouble getting the guest to recognize my Space Pilot, but after installing the Space Pilot's driver directly into the guest, it is working. I cannot install the Space Pilot's driver directly into the host's OS because the 3Dconnexion website is not working. However, now the guest does not recognize my mouse pointer. Could that be because my mouse is not an ordinary mouse? It is a MouseTrack track ball.
Sincerely,
Ralf

Re: Mouse capture
I doubt that a trackball vs a mouse would make a difference. However, if you used the USB filters to bring the "space pilot" into the VM, the filter may have caught the host mouse too. Try disabling all USB filters and see if the mouse returns to proper function. If it does, then one of your USB filters is too broad. See USB basics and troubleshooting
Re: Mouse capture
Thank you scottgus1,
I did not exactly follow your recommendation. I created two specific filters, one for the Space Pilot and one for the Itac MouseTrak. It worked right off the bat. May I consider this thread solved? You helped me anyway, because without your suggestion I would not have done what I did.
Sincerely,
Ralf

Re: Mouse capture
No problem! If you got things working the way you want them, then that's great! Glad you're up and running.
