We are having trouble getting the grub menu on a vm.
VirtualBox is running on an Ubuntu host with a Linux Mint vm.
I found an old post that the host ubuntu environment is trapping the shift key and so it does not get to the vm.
Is this true? Is there a workaround?
I have limited remote access to this environment as the customer's consultant passed away and we need to do a root passwd reset.
FYI, holding shift down in another location with a Windows host worked fine.
Thank you,
Peter

Re: shift key for vm
When the VM is in windowed mode, not Fullscreen or Seamless, the 'Host' key is displayed in the lower right corner on the Status Bar. When you hit the 'host' key Virtualbox disconnects the keyboard from the VM and puts it into the host OS. This key defaults to Right Ctrl, but it can be changed. What is your VM's 'host' key?
