Trying to open Quantum Espresso, stuck on loading screen when booted.

I have an assignment (Run and 1 SCF and 2 NSCF calculations) due this upcoming Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022. Although Quantum Mobile 21.05.1 won't run for me since it's stuck on the booting screen. Please see the attached screenshot displaying where it's currently stuck on.
I'm not so sure how to fix this issue, but I need a solution to this ASAP. Thank you for those who'll help me!

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Thanks for the log. It doesn't show any problems as such with the Virtualbox 'hardware' that I see.
https://quantum-mobile.readthedocs.io/e ... .05.1.html says this VM came as an importable appliance. The log shows the VM as a Windows11 template, but the OS is apparently Ubuntu:

Set the VM's General settings, Basic tab, Type: to
Linux, and Version: to
Ubuntu 64-bit.
Also, RAM on the host os too short:

Try rebooting the host then trying the VM right away after log-in, instead of running other programs first.

Hello again! I made the changes to my settings in 'basic'. Can you explain how I can reboot the host then try the VM after logging in? Do you mean just do a normal start?

"reboot the host": restart your computer.
"try the VM after logging in" Start the VM first after the computer starts.

I tried that just now but the issue is still there sadly. Is there anything else I can try?

OK please try downloading an Ubuntu Desktop ISO,
https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop , perhaps the Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. See if you can make a VM with that. If that works, then it could be the Quantum VM OS is broken and might have to be fixed inside the OS itself, instead of through Virtualbox.

Hi! Yes! I was able to download and install Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS onto my VM, it's up and running. Question, if I reinstall Quantum Espresso, will all my files be erased?

Good, so the working Ubuntu VM shows that Virtualbox is working on your PC. The problem with the Quantum VM is inside the Quantum OS.

If you imported the Quantum VM from an OVA file, like "quantum_mobile_21.05.1.ova", then you can redo the import and you'll get a new fresh VM. The page you downloaded the ova from might have a hash value to check the integrity of the downloaded file before importing.
