Virtualbox freezes

Post by JochenW »

Hi,

haven't looked into the bug database yet, but I have the strong suspicion, that VirtualBox 6.1.32 r149290 has some stability problems. When running one of several Linux guests, it frequently happens, that the virtual machine freezes (In one case, even the physical host).

My Windows is 10.0, Build19043. I'll attach a log file, that has been created when running Rocky Linux 8.5.

Thanks,

Jochen

The log was taken while the VM window as still open, so the 6.1.32 bug diagnostic is missing. To check on the bug possibility we'll need another log with the VM fully shut down.

Here's the new log file. The procedure to reproduce: Boot up the VM (Rocky Linux 8.5) in text mode, and start up graphical mode (systemctl isolate graphical.target).

After that, ACPI Shutdown no longer works,a network ping from the host fails, and I can only do a "Power Off".

This VM could use a second CPU core and a lot more graphics RAM (it currently has 16MB, which is probably a cause for warnings in the VM settings dialog): I'd increase this to 128MB.
