Scaling factor stopped working

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 with VirtualBox 6.1.32 r149290 (Qt5.6.2) on a 4K monitor, and the scaling factor stopped working. It's set to 1.25 and was working, but now everything is displayed small as if there is no scaling factor. Setting it to other values such as 2 has no effect. Reinstalling VirtualBox didn't help. I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the VM from scratch.
The only thing I can think of that might have broken anything is that I frequently have to kill the VM when the host PC wakes from sleep, because the VM is unresponsive with a black screen.

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Thanks for the log.
You may be facing the 6.1.32/Hyper-V bug, which may be the cause of the seize-ups:
00:00:03.583003 VirtualBox VM 6.1.32 r149290 win.amd64 (Jan 17 2022 11:29:30) release log
00:00:03.790018 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available
6.1.32 Hyper-V Glitch (remove left 9 characters, time offset in seconds, less than 1 second normal)
00:02:08.613506 /TM/VirtualSync/CurrentOffset 24009894652 ns (=24 seconds)
Our forum guru 'fth0' has done some troubleshooting and pins down these possibilities to try (HCVI = Microsoft 'Memory Integrity'):
6.1.32 without Hyper-V
6.1.30 with Hyper-V but without HVCI
6.1.26 with Hyper-V and HVCI.
Re the scaling, is this an in-the-VM-OS setting, or a setting made in the Virtualbox Display settings?

I'm setting the scaling factor in the VirtualBox Display settings.
