No USB devices available
Posted: 18. Jan 2022, 00:30
Hi all,
I've installed VirtualBox 6.1.30 r148432 under MacOS Big Sur 11.6.2 along with the matching extension pack. I've installed a Windows XP Guest and it run, but I cannot access USB devices. When I try to create a filter I see "<no devices available>". I've searched for the same problem and tried the methods used to address it but none have worked. The USB thumb drive I have connected to test the connection is ejected from the host, so should be available. I've attached the details as per the "asking for help" page. AN interesting thing to note is that VboxManage list usbhost returns "None" when running as me, but when I run it with sudo I see the USB Key and the virtual USB host controller. Both show as "busy", which is perhaps odd given that the USB key is definitely ejected. The output for that is also attached below. I have reinstalled VBox, and restarted the host a few times now.
Is there anything else I can try?
