What does this error mean? Querying NetCfgInstanceID failed

I just cannot create a new adapter, it says "Querying NetCfgInstanceID failed" ,see the pic below. How to do ?
This has been reported a few times in past years. It seems to be caused by third party anti-virus, blocking apps from using network APIs.
It would also be sensible to check that networking drivers even got installed (check that "VirtualBox NDISx Bridged Networking Driver" is present in the driver stack for your network card), since if your PC is set up in paranoia mode then there's a good chance that drivers were not even installed.
