Unable to implement a shared folder
Posted: 25. Dec 2021, 21:55
VirtualBox 6.1.
I've been unable to use a shared folder.
Both host and guest are Windows 10 (I also have a Ubuntu VM, but that's not relevant).
Under Shared Folders, I have the following Machine Folder:
-------
* Folder Path: A folder on the HOST computer. Say, "C:\Foo".
* Folder Name: "Win10_64_001_Share"
I presume that this will just be the name that I see on the guest VM.
* Mount Point: I specified an existing folder on the GUEST machine, "C:\_Shared".
I also tried "C:/Shared".
I have auto-mount and “make permanent” checked.
--------
I expected that, on the GUEST machine, in "C:\_Shared", I would find sub-folder "Win10_64_001_Share".
However, "C:\_Shared" is empty.
I've powered-down, and restarted the VM, to no avail.
Though auto-mount is specified, I would try a manual mount.
However, I'm not sure what that command would look like, for this situation.
Keep in mind that both host and guest are Windows 10.
Thanks in advance.
