Error gives me gray hair

Dear Users and Mods

I would like to ask for help concerning several errors running VM Ware Box Oracle on my Windows 10 Pro System.
I need to install Fedora Linux on it but not even versions of emulated windows can i install. Also clean Linux program gives the same bugs.
Really need the program to work for my school exams.

Would you please be so kind to have a look at it?

So, the error: Failed to open session on VM Fedora Linux ------> Resultcode: E_FAIL (0x80004005 component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} .

What have i tried already: run VM ware aswell as admin aswell as normal user. Install Fedora 35 Linux (and normal Linux and W10) with more than 8GB ram space, free space 20-30GB each on my pc. Other version Fedora 34 and Fedora 33. Reboot program, reboot W10. Uninstalled it several times with 2 versions of VM ware aswell linux. Turned Hyper V on W10 on and off, nothing works.

The error message you posted is the "second part" of the error message, which is unfortunately not descriptive enough. There was a first part of the error that can guide us better. See this poster's error viewtopic.php?f=6&t=104692#p510313 for an example.

Can you please try again to start a VM and see if there is a first message which comes up before the "Resultcode: E_FAIL (0x80004005" part?

tried again a reinstall with this:

In this particular case, you have somehow got the installer ISO mounted as a hard drive, not in the VM's Optical drive.

Please try reading through section 1 of the Virtualbox manual. It will walk you through making a VM.

Somehow it did work suddenly, kept reinstalling and suddenly it did came through.

Thanks for your advice. I saved the installer guide to my favorites in case will need it again.


Now there's one last thing i encounter, the | sign. i cannot pipe with my keyboard layouts. Am using MSI laptop, the keyboard has been set in Fedora to aswell French BE Azerty (since am using azerty keyboard). Is there a way i can type in azerty with a working |-symbol please?. Would make life alot easier.

Glad the VM is running!

Regarding the pipe symbol, I assume the laptop keyboard is a QWERTY keyboard. please web-search on differences between QWERTY and AZERTY, to see if the Pipe is on a different key. Virtualbox does not (to my knowledge) do any key translations, that's up to the VM's OS to determine what a key is.

If you leave the VM OS's keyboard set to QWERTY, does the Pipe come through?

it came through with ctrl+ my key above enter. the virtual keyboard showed it. You were right about it
