Keyboard issue

Post by lopezan »

I use VirtualBox on Windows Vista Home Premium Host.
I have installed a virtual machine with Windows XP Home and/or Professional edition.

I run the virtual machine, but after some minutes, the keyboard doesn't work. It is freezed.

Can anyone help me?

My PC (Host):
Intel Centrino 2 Core Duo P8400
4G RAM
NVIDIA P9600

I have the same issue occasionally.. usually I find either minimizing the guest and then restoring the window OR clicking in the guests' menus at the top will restore keyboard functionality.

Make sure you have the latest guest additions installed in the guest as well, that helps

Instead I must shutdown the virtual machine to re-use the keyboard.
I have installed the addition of the last release of Virtual Box.

With this problem, I cannot use VirtualBox.

if you click in the menu of the guest (while it's running) - and then move around via the keyboard there that doesn't restore your control?

I usually click "File" , then just my up/down arrows to make sure the cursor moves.

Anytime i've ever lost keyboard access IN the guest, doing the above has always resolved it.

If not, then you might want to open a bug report for it.

Post your log files as well, perhaps somethign there will give us a clue
