Hallo Forum,

ist es möglich, unter dem Host-Betriebssystem Kubuntu 20.04 (Focal Fossa) eine Virtualbox mit Windows 10 zu betreiben, wo das Windows 10 direkten Zugriff auf die Grafikkarte hat?

Ziel ist es, Spiele, welche nicht unter Linux laufen, in der Virtualbox unter Windows laufen zu lassen - und für Spiele ist ein direkter Grafikkartenzugriff nötig bzw. bringt mehr Performance als bei einer emulierten Grafikkarte.

No. The VM is not able to access the video card of the host directly.

(There used to be a setup to do this for PCI cards only, not for PCIe used by video cards of today. The code for PCI cards was removed starting in 6.1.0, if I remember correctly.)

The best you can do running as a VM is enable 3D acceleration in the VM's video settings and install the Guest Additions with 3D acceleration support in the VM's OS.

Alternatively, run the Windows OS as dual-boot on the physical hardware, not in a VM.

Das letzte ist die richtige Lösung: Dual Boot. Einen anderen sinnvollen Weg gibt es nicht.
