The way to handle this problem depends on what this:

means. Pick option 1 or 2 below:

1. If it means you're trying to install Virtualbox on your Windows 10 physical host PC, rest assured that fast PCs, SSDs and Hyper-V will not cause trouble installing Virtualbox on your physical PC. Please let us know if this is the case, so we can give some links to help fix the host installation system.

2. If the above quote means you're trying to install 10 inside Virtualbox, then Hyper-V could be causing trouble. The stated error code happens when installing 10, and Hyper-V on the host PC has caused glitches when the VM is unpacking files from an ISO. The vbox.log will tell if Hyper-V is enabled on the host PC.

Please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log.

Search the far left tab's log for this text:

Attempting fall back to NEM

If you find it, Hyper-V is enabled. See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).

If you don't find that text, save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Host Hyper-V is off, good. The VM does not show any problems after it boots from the CD-ROM. However, there is a hardening error with the host video drivers, which come into play because on the VM's Display settings, 3D Acceleration is enabled. 3D can't be used until the OS is installed and the Guest Additions are installed in the OS.

I would try disabling the 3D acceleration and try the install again. If it fails again, re-download a new ISO using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool and try one more time. If that fails again, please post a new zipped log.

6.1.2 will be buggy. Try 6.1.22 or 6.1.18.

Are you running Virtualbox as Admin? If so that prevents the logged on account's folders from being seen. Put the ISO in a public folder, like C:\Users\Public.

The Media Creation Tool isn't the ISO, just in case that was the idea. It does make the ISO, though. (Forgive me if this is too pedantic, just trying to cover all bases.)

FWIW Virtualbox should not be run as Admin except when installing the Extension Pack or using Raw Disk Access.
