Looking for some help. I’m using vm for school, and having no luck getting a windows 7 64 bit running. My host is windows 10 pro. Hyper v is disabled. I have successfully started multiple windows 10 vms and 2 windows 16 servers one GUI land one cli. For some reason when i try windows 7 it maxes out the allowable cpu, even though through task manager it shows 1 or 2%. I have allocated everything from 2gigs to 24 gigs of memory, and anywhere from 1-3 processors. I’m running an MSI I7 11th gen processor with 64 gigs of ram and 2 to ssd. Any help would be appreciated

Windows 7 swamps a PC while running post-install updates, but maybe there are further issues.
Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log and the hardening log next to it, zip them, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
Also, please post a zipped far left log from the working 10 VM.

Neither of the Windows 7 logs end properly, I wonder if this part of the instructions was missed?

Additionally there is a change in Virtualbox version from the 10 log running 6.1.18 to the 7 log running 6.1.20. Did you update Virtualbox to test if a new version would help?

Both logs show the tell-tale "Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available", meaning that something using Hyper-V is still enabled, see
I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests posts 2 and 3, and
HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).
Finally, I see that the 7 VM only booted to the CD-ROM, not an installed OS. The log shows that "Nested Paging" is disabled, which I believe slows down VM operation. See the VM's System settings, Acceleration tab, "Enable Nested Paging".
If this does not improve the 7 VM's operation, disable Hyper-V as indicated in the "Attempting fall back to NEM" tutorial.
