Virtual USB

I have a problem with using USB devices on my XP Pro guest.
I have added the devices to the filter and when the guest is running they show as captured, but they are not available to the guest and still appear in device manager on my host XP Pro system.
I have done a quick search and couldn't find any previous topics on this.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Jon.

It would be like a needle in a haystack if you don't specify what USB device you're talking about and what settings you made. Please be more specific.

It seems to be with all devices.
I use a Maxtor One Touch 4 Plus external drive, LG USB DVD Rewriter and a USB to RS232 serial converter.
These are all working under the host XP on an Acer Aspire One, 1.5Gb RAM, 120Gb hard disk.

How can you tell they are captured, if they still show as a normal device in your Host's device manager? You have to mount it manually if you want it in your Guest. Right click the USB icon and select the device you want in your Guest. There should be a box checked in front of the device now.

I could tell it was captured by the little pop up dialogue box when right clicking and bringing up the list of USB devices. However it would not let me left click and select the device, it would just cause VB to hang meaning a forced closedown from task manager.
I have now resolved this by removing VB and deleting my virtual machine and starting from scratch. The USB system now works.
Although I can't rule out my Aspire One as this has been giving me USB problems, so the USB hardware may actually be the cause of it.
