Kubuntu 8.04 host - XP guest - VB 2.02 - USB problem

Post by emamm2008 »

Hello

I read some documentation on how to set USb on a kubuntu host to be used with VB. The virtual machine, Windows XP, found the usb pendrive, started installling all the necessary software and that is, nothing more. Suddenly the usb pendrive was no longer available to the virtual machine or to the host itself.

Any suggestion of what could be wrong?

Many thanks

Ed

Try to use it as Shared Folders. Network access is more stable than USB.

It seems that the Host locked the USB drive. If a safe removal does not work on the Host, hot plug it out and back in while the VM has focus. This should trigger VB to grab the device and you should be able to mount it in VB without any problems.
