Hi,

I just installed VirtualBox on my Win10 Home and have been trying to start Ubuntu 20.04 ever since. Everytime I get the following error: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
The virtual machine 'Ubuntu' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1).

I've browsed all over Internet and in this forum. But no solution has worked out for me yet.
  • Already turned off my AV while installing/starting the VM
  • Hyper-V is not installed in my laptop (Win 10 Home)
  • Allowed Virtualization in the BIOS
Can anyone help me please? I'm almost giving up lol :( .

Error Log attached

The log shows AV still running. Kaspersky in fact.

Third party AV is counter-productive in Windows 10. There is no security hole needing filled - but adding dubious kernel level third party tools can create that hole.
