Change the location of the settings files
Change the location of the settings files
How do I change the location of the settings files after changing the installation path of the machine?

Re: Change the location of the settings files
If you mean that you changed the location for new VMs in the main Virtualbox window, File menu, Preferences, General, Default Machine Folder, and now you want to move existing VMs, do this:
Right-click each VM in the main Virtualbox window's list of VMs, then in the pop-up menu click Move. Browse to the desired folder, etc.
If this is not what you meant, please describe your question in more detail.

Re: Change the location of the settings files
I did so, but the files "Win-10-64. vbox" and "Win-10-64.vbox-prev" remained in the same folder.scottgus1 wrote:...please describe your question in more detail.
If you move them manually, this does not solve the problem, and editing them is prohibited.
P.S.
It looks like the problem is that I only moved the VM disk itself:
File \ Virtual Media Manager \ Move
Now my nerves are already over, I think I will create everything again. This is my first attempt at creating a VM.

Re: Change the location of the settings files
FWIW you can move the disk file back, then move the whole VM.
