I am getting the following error when I try to run a VM session. It also fails with the same error with headless start. I set hypervisorlaunchtype to off in BCDEdit.
My machine is on Windows 10.0.17134.1425. I installed the Orac VM vbox manager 6.0.24 with admin right and also running it with admin right also.
I would appreciate any help on this.
Thank you in advance.

You definitely have something hacking your dll's, and there's a "SentinelOne" security/nanny-ware installed, that might be doing it. See Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues

For future reference: please zip your complete log files. A partial log such as that provided is usually not very good for the job.
Re: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Actually, SentinelOne is the antivirus software my company uses and as far as I know, none of my co-workers have this problem.

Interesting. If your co-workers are running Virtualbox under SentinelOne without trouble, and your PC is having trouble, I'd recommend going to your boss & the IT dept and have them figure out what is happening. If you can't work because of this, your boss will get it fixed.YooHoo wrote:as far as I know, none of my co-workers have this problem.
FWIW it could be some other software that is causing this. Some causers of hardening trouble don't show themselves in the hardening log.
Re: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
The problem was resolved after IT Helpdesk person updated my laptop from Windows 10.0.17134.1425 to the latest version(10.0.19041.804).

That's good. A complete reinstall of the whole PC has sometimes enabled coexistence.
