Memory allocation Question

I am using VirtualBox 2.0.2 on my Windows-XP SP3/ 4GB.

With the same conditions, I am able to install & run

• an OpenSolaris image with 2800 MB
  but I am limited to 1800MB with a Windows-XP SP2 image.

Are there any reasons for this ?
