I'm running a Windows XP guest on Fedora 9. The Linox host runs fine normally but when I have Virtualbox Guest running, the Gnome UI will randomly lock up. I lose access to menus, panels and the desktop. I can still ALT-Tab between applications and work in existing running apps but not start new ones. Everything runs fine till I go and try to access a panel. This doesn't happen every time, but it eventually always does. Has anyone ever experienced this or have any suggestions?
Fedora 9 - pretty clean install (tried host OS re-install) - Fully patched
Most recent version of VirtualBox
Guest - Win XP SP3 - fully patched
USD Enabled on Guest
Host Shared Folder activated
TIA

Re: Fedora 9 Gnome UI locks up when VirtualBox is running
is it possible that your mouse is still stuck in the windows guest OS? I have been having such a problem but when releasing the mouse (right ctrl) my troubles went away.
But when I wanted to access the windows guest machine it had locked up and had to be rebooted.
