Error during extract OVA file

Hi,

after Export Appliance into OVA file in VirtualBox, I'm extracting the OVA file using 7zip, but I got error message "Unexpected end of data".

please advise what causing this error message and how to solve it.

It means what it says - the file has been shortened. Usually IME this is a result of copying the file (>4GB) onto a FAT32 formatted USB drive, and ignoring the resulting error messages.

ah ok.. actually I'm using external drive and it has NTFS formatted.
if the error message can be ignoring, then it's fine. many thanks mpack.

I didn't say that the error can be ignored! But the only way to fix it is with a copy of the OVA that has not been corrupted.

If you doubt that the corruption exists then rename the OVA to "<whatever>.tar.gz" (since that's all an OVA really is), then examine it with the archiving tool of your choice (WinZip, WinRAR, 7zip etc).
