Hello,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu through VMBox, but every time I hit Start, I only make it a few seconds in before it freezes. I've looked up help for this online, which suggested to enable PAE/NX, adding more processors (currently there are 3 allocated and I've tried with more and less), turning off 'Enable 3D Acceleration', allocating more memory (currently 6GB, also have tried more/less), and of course tried to reinstall VMBox as well as getting another download of my iso image for Ubuntu..
I've been unsuscessful in everything I've tried to fix this issue, and I have found out this isn't just for Ubuntu. I also attempted to setup another flavor of Linux, Debian, which I was able to successfully get past the initial setup but once it restarted the same issue occurred where within 10 seconds the screen would completely freeze and I would have to power off the vm.
My specs are:
Windows 10 Pro - 64bit
i7 - 3770
1080Ti - 12GB.

If there is any log file that would be helpful, let me know and I can add that or answer any questions.

Please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log.

Search the far left tab's log for this text:

Attempting fall back to NEM

If you find it, Hyper-V is enabled. See HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM (Hyper-V is active).

If you don't find that text, save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

You are my hero. I had same issue as HoboJo.

I've been using Virtualbox for quite awhile without troubles. I just recently installed Docker for Windows (Home) version. And after seeing your hints & guidance here, now I understand what's going on. Clearly Docker and Virtualbox don't play nice.

For the fix, I'm thinking this makes a bit of sense. htmlheader with colon and backslash x2 then unclassified.software/en/apps/hypervswitch

Zipzit, glad you got your setup going too. Sounds like your link is similar to the tenforums link in my tutorial above, where Hyper-V can be switched on and off via a GUI click. Tenforums' solution happens in the same screen where dual-boot options would be.
