Black screen after Windows 10 logo

Post by orbee »

Hey there, newbee here.
So, my job is to update 4 windows 7 wm in a server host, windows server 2012.
After backup i try to download media tool windows on 1 wm, and everything seems fine. But a first launch the machine freeze on startup and now after logo everything goes black screen and i can't do nothing.
I disable 3d accelaration and hyper v, nothing changed.
I'm trying now to do the job on my windows 10 but still same error, same black screen.

Here's the log.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

According to the posted log, the VM already has Windows 10 in it:
00:00:54.745858 GIM: HyperV: Open-source=false Vendor=0x1 OS=0x4 (Windows NT or derivative) Major=10 Minor=0 ServicePack=0 Build=10011
Seems to show a different scenario than the 7 > 10 update jobs?

Regrettably I don't see anything wrong with the VM in the log.

One thing I vaguely remember from the big "Free Windows 10 Upgrades for a Year" push a few years ago (though I can't find the link for it) is that one needed to change the VM's General Settings, Version dropdown to Windows 10 before running the update.

If that setting does not help the 7 > 10 update go through, please show us a log of the Windows 7 VM, from downloading the update to running the update to the screen blackout. There should be at least one reboot in the log. If you have to shut down the VM, post all the logs from the first update-download log, please.

The "server host" seems to be using a gaming mainboard. ;)

In the VM configuration settings, check System > Acceleration > Enable Nested Paging.

@scottgus1: Here's the corresponding log message to look for:

hey guys, thanks for replies.

anyway this log is from my personal pc, i use it for test the update before doing it on the real vm, the real vm is on a Windows server. 2012 hosts with s xeon 2630v4.
I try the update one time on the server and there was the same error, logo and black screen.
By the way at the first startup after update the boot goes after the logo and it stuck on update screen at 0%.
after this first stuck the black screen happens at every startup after.
I'm real noob about vm and oracle, I'm sorry but I don't understand what are you say.

sorry for monkey English.

thanks for help
