Issue running VM after having not run in a while

Post by TheAnt3177 »

Hey all. I ran into a handful of errors I can't figure out. I haven't toyed with VM in months and I haven't changed or deleted any of the core files since then.
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 98 SE.

VISO: RTVfsChainQueryInfo failed to open 'D:/Users/Anthony/Downloads/Win9x Games/Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (1996)(New World Computing)/ANIM': VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND).

VD: error VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND opening image file 'D:\Users\Anthony\VirtualBox VMs\Windows 98 SE\Windows 98 SE.viso' (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND).

Failed to open image 'D:\Users\Anthony\VirtualBox VMs\Windows 98 SE\Windows 98 SE.viso' in read-only mode (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND).

PIIX3 cannot attach drive to the Secondary Master (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
I don't remember how I mounted the Heroes of Might and Magic 2 game (which has since been removed), and I can't figure out how to unmount it, and I feel like I'm just totally lost. As for the other errors saying "PATH NOT FOUND" while referencing a file, the paths are valid and files are intact. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

The 'viso' file is a simulated cd-rom made by Virtualbox that uses a set of files and folders the user can choose, and then fakes an 'ISO' that the VM can use without actually having to make an ISO file.

Empty your VM's 'CD drive(s)' and the VM should start.

If it does not start, right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. Zip the VM's .vbox file (not the .vbox-prev file), and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab. (Configure your host OS to show all extensions if the folder that opens does not show a .vbox file.)

Well that was a simple enough process and that did fix it. I don't know why that started happening between the last time I ran it and now, but still thank you very much.
