Hello
I just installed VirtualBox 6.1.16 r140961 and created 2 virtual machines, 1 for Windows Server 2016 and 1 for Windows 10. The windows Server 2016 works great, no problems there, but the Windows 10 VM is not working as expected, everything is so slow. I'm attaching the VirtualBox log file to see if anyone can help me .
For some reason I'm seeing a lot of thrashing with video size hints. Have you configured something strange in the VM, or were you just dragging the window border a lot?
You should upgrade to VirtualBox 6.1.18.
The log is truncated, so apart from the video size hint thrashing there's not a lot of info in there.
I see you are still booting from CD, still trying to install the OS. I suggest that you disable 3D acceleration and stop trying to adjust the display size until the OS is installed and so too the Guest Additions and host Extension Pack.
Thanks for the feedback mpack!
I upgraded to version 6.1.18 ad installed host extension pack. Change cpu to 2 cores and ram to 6gb, disabled 3D acceleration and now everything seems to be working fine. Tryed to enable 3D acceleration but everything become slower again, so this must be the problem, as long 3D acceleration is disabled everything works ok.
If you provided a log that wasn't truncated (i.e. make sure VirtualBox is completely closed down before grabbing and zipping a log), then I could perhaps comment on the 3D acceleration problem.
Hi
I will attach the last log (virtualbox closed). Now everything is working as expected I believe the problem was the Transparency effect in windows 10. I have disabled that setting and was able to enable 3D acceleration in VB settings.
The transparency effect produces video rendering problems, but I don't recall anyone saying that it slowed things down. I'll have a look at your log. ...
Edit: I don't see any obvious remaining problems in your log.
