How to switch GPU dummy for host's NDIVA graphic's card for Schrodinger Desmond MD simulation?

When I try to run MD simulations on my ubuntu Oracle virtual machine, I am running into an issue where it detects a "dummy" GPU/CPU. Is there a way around this? How can I add my GPU to my Virtual machine?

Schrodinger "Desmond" requires GPUs to run simulations. How can I have my Virtual machine work with my local GPU NVIDIA? I tried going to NVIDIA Control Panel

There is no way to make your VM see the host's video card. It will always see the 'dummy'. You can turn on 3D acceleration in the VM's Display settings and install the Guest Additions with 3D support in the VM. Then the host's video drivers will be used for some VM 3D calculations. But you won't get an Nvidia card showing up in the VM's OS.

So I am not exactly tech savvy. How would I go about installing guest additions with 3D support in the VM?

That is covered in chapter 4 of the user manual. Also available in the F1 help and as a PDF in the VirtualBox program folder.
